Yay! On Sunday, I submitted the block below to the Quilt Block Challenge and today I learned that I made it into the top 13 (I think they were nice and took most blocks). Either way, I'm excited.
And there's more. Now they are opening votes so that YOU can help determine three winners of this challenge. I'd love it if you would take a quick moment to vote, and if you vote for my block, that's even better! All you have to do vote is head over to this link and then click on "vote" for the three blocks that you like. Voting closes on August 24, so please vote soon! Oh and if you want to read more about my block, you can do so here.
All righty, onto my other finishes for this week so far. I made blocks 5 and 6 for the Vintage Holiday Quilt Along. I really love how these blocks are turning out with the Brrrrr fabric.
And I got started on another. Baby boy made me. I've had the Brrr blocks up on the wall and every time he sees them he asks is they are for him. They could be, but I knew that he would love this holiday sock monkey fabric, so I offered to make him a new one. He saw the blocks this morning and said "My cute (that's what quilt sounds like out of his mouth)? I like the monkey one." It makes my heart melt just a tad that he loves my sewing so much.
Oh and do you see that white background in the above photo? Well that is my new design wall! I don't love taping my blocks to the wall (nor the wall color). After seeing Jennifer's post on her design wall, I was reminded of how easy it would be to hang one up. It was even easier when I remembered that a long time ago, I had purchase a small one (before I realized you could just use batting). One thing I like about it is that it has grid lines to help with the placement of blocks and there are grommets at the top that make for super easy hanging. Yay!
Have a happy Tuesday!
